What is the Hoehn Motors Mercedes-Benz Raffle benefiting Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Diego?
Hoehn Motors Mercedes-Benz Raffle is a fundraiser to benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Diego. All proceeds benefit San Diego’s Ronald McDonald House. The raffle aims to raise funds for Ronald McDonald House in its continuing effort to provide a “home away from home” to thousands of families with children in the hospital. In addition to supporting Ronald McDonald House, the raffle awards five prizes in the Grand Prize Drawing, including the top prize – either a 2018 Mercedes-Benz C300 Cabriolet or $50,000 cash.

What are the prizes?
Grand Prize Drawing
Grand Prize is winner’s choice between a 2018 Mercedes-Benz C300 Cabriolet or $50,000 cash.
2nd Prize – 4 Days, 3 Nights Stay at Wynn Las Vegas, including Exotic Car Racing Experience and Culinary Adventure; or $3,000 Cash
3rd Prize – 2 Tickets to Daytona 500, Indianapolis 500, MLB All-Star Game, NHL Stanley Cup Finals Game, or U.S. Open Golf Championship, with 3 Days, 2 Nights & Airfare to Your Chosen Sports Vacation; or $2,500 Cash
4th Prize – 2 Reserved Tickets to Any Live Concert or Theater Production in the Contiguous U.S., with 3 Days, 2 Nights & Airfare to Your Chosen Destination; or $2,000 Cash

Do you accept applications by email or sell tickets on the internet?
No. Pursuant to California statutory regulations and to section 320.5 of the Penal Code, charitable raffle tickets may not be sold, redeemed or exchanged on the internet.
How long will it take to receive my ticket in the mail?
If an email address is provided with your order, electronic tickets will be sent via email and you will not be receiving physical tickets unless requested. If an email address is not provided or you have opted to receive physical tickets through the mail, please allow up to four weeks. All tickets purchased before an entry deadline are included in a drawing even if the customer’s portion of the ticket arrives after the drawing date.
Is the Hoehn Motors Mercedes-Benz Raffle legal?
Yes it is. In the summer of 2001, the California Legislature amended the state constitution to allow eligible non-profit organizations to conduct raffles as a means of raising funds. Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Diego, Inc. is registered with the California Attorney General’s Office to conduct this charitable raffle.
Will the drawing be audited?
Yes, an independent accounting agency will audit the raffle, including the Grand Prize, Multi-Ticket and Gala Drawings.
How much does a raffle ticket cost?
A single ticket costs $100. A limited number of multi-ticket packs are available at discounted prices – three tickets for $250, five tickets for $400, and 10 tickets for $500.
How many raffle tickets can I buy?
You may buy as many tickets as you like.
How many raffle tickets will be sold?
Only 8,000 tickets will be sold. A maximum number of 1,560 Multi-ticket discount packs will be sold, and are limited to the following quantities:
3-Packs – 1,020
5-Packs – 120
10-Packs – 420
What are the odds of winning?
The odds of winning any prize – including the Grand Prize – are based on the number of tickets sold. If fewer tickets are sold, the chances of winning the Grand Prize improve. If the maximum number of tickets is sold, the odds of winning the Grand Prize are 1:8,000 for any single ticket.
How many prizes are awarded?
A total of 5 prizes will be awarded in the Grand Prize Drawing, including the top prize. There are two additional, bonus drawings offered – the Multi-Ticket Drawing and the Gala Drawing; a single prize is awarded in each drawing.
What is the Multi-Ticket Drawing?
Any individual who buys two or more tickets will be entered into the Multi-Ticket Drawing, subject to the following; to be eligible entrants must purchase two or more tickets during the same purchase, using one method of payment, using the same name on each ticket, and the same mailing address for each eligible ticket. For each eligible ticket purchased, a corresponding eligible ticket will be added into the Multi-Ticket Drawing. Three tickets purchased will have three tickets entered into the Multi-Ticket Drawing. Four tickets purchased will have four tickets entered into the Multi-Ticket Drawing, etc.

The prize winners as well as Ronald McDonald House and all of the families we serve.
When does the raffle start and when does it end?
The raffle begins on Thursday, August 10, 2017 and ends on Saturday, September 30, 2017. Public ticket sales end at 8:00PM PST on Friday, September 29, 2017. All ticket orders must be received at that time. If tickets remain, the final opportunity to purchase tickets will be on-site at the ROMP Gala event on Saturday, September 30, 2017. At the event, ticket sales will be limited to paid event attendees only.
When will the prize drawings be held?
The drawing date for the Grand Prize, Multi-Ticket and Gala Drawings is Saturday, September 30, 2017. The drawing is scheduled in the evening at the Ronald McDonald House’s annual ROMP Gala event, Aloha, hosted at the Fairmont Grand Del Mar.
Do I have to be present to win?
No – you do not have to be present to win prizes in either Grand Prize or Multi-Ticket Drawings. However, the Beverly Hills Shopping Spree in the special Gala Drawing is limited to ROMP Gala paid attendees only, and you must be present to claim your prize.
How will the winners be notified?
The list of winners will be published online at www.rmhcsd.org/carraffle shortly after the drawings conclude on Saturday, September 30, 2017. A complimentary email will be sent to all ticket purchasers to inform of the raffle drawings results.
Winners will be notified by phone, email, or mail – in that order – based on the contact information provided at the time of ticket purchase.
Who can buy a raffle ticket?
Any person 18 years of age or older with a US address can purchase a raffle ticket. Employees and members of the Board of Directors of Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Diego, Inc., employees of their agents, consultants, attorney, independent accountant firm, their spouses and children living in the same household are excluded from participating and are not eligible to win a prize. All federal, state, local laws and regulations apply. The raffle is void where prohibited or restricted by law. An affidavit of eligibility, provided by Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Diego, Inc., may be required from prize winners.
Are raffle tickets tax-deductible?
No. The IRS does not allow raffle tickets to be a tax-deductible contribution.
Are raffle prizes considered income?
Yes. In addition, RMHCSD will withhold required federal taxes for all prizes over $5,000, in accordance with federal law. RMHCSD will remit the balance of the cash prize to the winner.

How do I redeem my prize?
Prize winners will be contacted according to the contact information provided at the time of ticket purchase. In addition to a list of winners posted on the RMHCSD raffle web site, a list of winners may be obtained from Ronald McDonald House by sending a self-addressed, stamped envelope to Hoehn Motors Mercedes Raffle, c/o Ronald McDonald House, 2929 Children’s Way, San Diego, CA 92123 within 60 days of the drawing date.
