There are many ways that you can help out and become part of the Ronald McDonald House community. We are able to provide a “home-away-from-home” because people like you join in and help families in need.
Organize an Event
We have a lot of supporters who help out by organizing a fundraising event. This is a great way to bring your friends together for a good cause and have fun while you’re at it. Some event ideas include art shows, auctions, contests, races, games, or skills-building workshops. See some of the community events our supporters organize each year for more ideas.
Red Shoe Crew
The Red Shoe Crew is a student-led, two day event that brings the message of kindness and charity to San Diego area schools through activities that are developed for school-aged children.
During the first day, students participate in a variety of activities that promote the message of helping others. On the second day, the school holds its very own Red Shoe Day fundraiser where students collect donations in Ronald McDonald’s size 14 red shoes. Learn more about Red Shoe Crew!
Red Shoe Day
Red Shoe Day is the signature fundraiser of Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Diego. Join our volunteers in bright yellow shirts as they sing, dance, and hold out Red Shoes to collect donations for our House. More than 1,200 volunteers are positioned at 200 intersections during the morning commute to raise awareness, funds, and media attention for our cause.
