Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a minimum age to volunteer? Can my child or younger siblings also volunteer?
Recurring and kitchen volunteers must be at least 16 years of age and be accompanied by an adult. Younger volunteers can organize and lead a donation drive using the Wish Lists on our website, make blankets, host a lemonade stand, or participate in our Red Shoe Crew program.
Is there a dress code for RMHCSD onsite events?
We recommend wearing comfortable clothes and closed-toe shoes. Dress codes vary by activity.
Does your organization donate for volunteer hours?
Many organizations will make a monetary donation when employees volunteer at a non-profit. Be sure to check with your employer to see if your organization offers this type of program and how to submit hours. By signing in during a volunteer shift, we are able to verify your participation.
Is there a maximum group size allowed?
While we suggest groups of 15 people or less, we can work with your group to find activities for larger groups.
What should I bring for our activity?
Depending on the activity your group will be performing, we request that you provide the necessary materials for your activity.
Where do I park?
Please note that due to construction at the Rady Children’s Hospital campus, parking is limited. Our staff will work with your group to identify the best parking solutions. Carpooling is recommended to reduce the number of spots needed.
Are we allowed to bring a photographer or videographer in to document our volunteer group?
Yes, we will need advance notice for photo consent purposes for our guests.
