Dear Friends of San Diego’s Ronald McDonald House,
We never thought we’d need the Ronald McDonald House. But it’s become dear to our hearts—and vital to our son’s heart. Shortly after his birth, we learned Milo had a rare, life-threatening heart condition that required immediate open heart surgery. He’d then need another operation six months later.
It was devastating news.We couldn’t bear the thought of losing him— or of leaving his side. We lived in Hawaii at the time, and the closest hospital for this procedure was an ocean away. Baby Milo was flown to San Diego, and we traveled right behind, not knowing what was ahead.
Thank goodness for the Ronald McDonald House! It kept us together with Milo in those first fragile months. We could focus on his care, because the Ronald McDonald House was taking care of us. And hard as it was coming back for the next surgery, we took comfort in knowing we had a home in the Ronald McDonald House.
Please give today and help keep this amazing place going.
Right now, there are ten heart families who need to be with their babies, just like we did. With your help, they’ll have a shoulder to cry on when days blur together and the news isn’t what they’d like. They’ll have people to share in the joys of the small steps along the way.
Will you help?
Just $164 covers a night’s lodging for a family, plus meals and so much more.
Each night you give is truly a gift beyond measure for a family in need.
Our boy is eight years old now. He loves Legos and roller coasters. He needs corrective surgery as his heart grows, and it’s a roller coaster of risk and worries every time. He gets scared in the hospital, and he knows it’s going to hurt.
When we tell him it’s time for the next surgery, he asks,“Will we go to the Ronald McDonald House?”
Milo absolutely LOVES the House. It gives him a chance to play and feel the love and support of his Ronald McDonald House friends before and after his operation. It makes the thought of surgery bearable.
There are many worthy causes wanting your attention. You can’t go wrong with the Ronald McDonald House, and we sincerely hope that you will give as generously as you can to help families on this unexpected journey.
Thank you for sharing your heart with children whose hearts need extra help. Your gift means the world to families like ours.
Warmly,
Janet & Brian Bingham
P.S. Your gift matters! And every bit helps.
