For the lucky seventh year of our annual ROMP gala, we took the theme back…WAY BACK…to the decade when our Ronald McDonald House began. Over 300 guests came to the Fairmont Grand Del Mar for a 1980s-era House Party on October 29. Bartenders juggled drinks like in the Tom Cruise movie, Cocktail, and break dancers inspired partygoers to “bust a move.” At dinner, the speed painter Art Attack created a giant portrait of ’80s-icon Prince for auction that night. After the evening’s program, the Mighty Untouchables lit up the dance floor with stellar dance hits.
We are especially grateful to Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Diego Board Chair Brian Cahill and his wife Robin, who motivated outstanding giving through their $75,000 gift to match Fund-A-Family donations that evening.
We thank our incredibly talented and hardworking Executive Committee Leslie Mannes, Carrie Campbell, Jamie Straza, and Fernanda Witworth (not pictured) for bringing together a blast of an event!
Special thanks also go to board member Susan Hoehn and her husband Bill, who with Hoehn Motors donated the grand prize for the 7th Annual Hoehn Motors Porsche Raffle: a 2017 Porsche 718 Boxster or $50,000 cash.
We thank our Executive Committee, the Event Committee, the Honorary Committee, Event Sponsors and attendees for making this a House Party no one will soon forget! This year was not only fun, but make an incredible impact by raising $555,000 to help care for families at San Diego’s Ronald McDonald House.
Thank you to this year’s event sponsors!
