Ten-year-old Vista resident Mason Harvey likes Legos, reptiles and remote control cars. He also likes finding ways to help people in need. With guidance from his parents, Mason has organized five collection drives to gather items for charities; in particular, food and toiletries for Ronald McDonald House families. After each drive, Mason has set up a “Good Karma” stand in his driveway with homemade treats for those who’ve donated to his cause.
His mom Michelle says about Mason’s involvement with our House:
Mason wants families to have tasty foods, and to help families be healthy and happy while their kids are going through their challenges.
Mason recommends volunteering at the House because people are nice and kind. He credits our volunteer coordinator, Vince Speitel, as being “super nice.” Mason was excited to receive an official volunteer shirt and name badge. He says he looks forward to years of volunteering as he grows into it!
