Six Watkins Wellness employees came to San Diego’s Ronald McDonald House on March 17, 2023 to present a check from their company in the amount of $30,000 – its sixth annual donation. But in the “Watkins Way” of giving, these employees did more than that. They rolled up their sleeves, donned hairnets and began prepping the meal that they would serve to House visitors starting at noon.
Watkins Wellness – established in Vista in 1977 and part of MASCO since 1986 – is committed to community giving. It encourages its employees, through the Watkins Cares Program, to make a difference by volunteering at a charity of their choice, motivating them by offering two hours of paid time off per year to do so. Employees’ charitable contributions are also matched up to $5,000.
Watkins Wellness supports a number of nonprofits, both locally and nationally. Its employees are tasked with selecting organizations that mesh well with the company’s mission. According to Kristin Sedgwick, Watkins Wellness’ Brand Manager, being able to serve a meal at the House was “fantastic.” “Not only is it a great team-building experience,” she said, “but it’s great to be able to see firsthand the people you’re supporting.”
Watkins Wellness has supported San Diego’s Ronald McDonald House since 2017 with grants totaling a remarkable $210,000. We are grateful for their dedicated support.
